Traces of Presence. A Conversation with Beata Chomątowska
What does it mean to live in a place built on the ruins of a former world? What remains of a vanished city and its inhabitants when material traces disappear, and memory becomes part of everyday life?
Muranów is a unique space - built on the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto, yet for decades functioning as an ordinary residential district where everyday life continues. It is this place that Beata Chomątowska - writer, reporter, memory researcher, and author of Muranów Station - has been exploring for years.
